Biden to urge Americans to wear face coverings for 100 days

US President-elect Joe Biden said he would ask Americans to wear masks for 100 days to help reduce transmission of Covid-19.

“I’m going to ask the public for 100 days to mask. Just 100 days to mask – not forever,” Biden said.

He also revealed he had asked the US government’s top infectious disease specialist Anthony Fauci to remain in his post and join his Covid-19 team after he takes office.

Biden also said he is willing to get vaccinated in public to build trust in the vaccines when they are approved.

It is expected the FDA will approve the Covid-19 vaccines rapidly following the approval of the Pfizer vaccine by the UK government.
