Argentine footballer ‘Diego Maradona’ dies aged 60

Legendary footballer ‘Diego Maradona’ has died at the age of 60 at his home in Argentina after suffering a heart attack according to his lawyer.

The gifted footballer was loved in Argentina after leading them to their 1986 World Cup win.

Maradona was also adored in Italy for taking Napoli to two Serie A titles. Several weeks ago, Maradona underwent emergency surgery for a subdural haematoma and had recently battled health issues.

Many people took to the streets of Buenos Aires to mourn the death of Maradona with the Argentine government declaring three days of mourning.

President Alberto Fernandez paid tribute to Maradona stating, “You took us to the highest point in the world, and made us immensely happy. You were the greatest of all. Thank you for having been with us, Diego. We will miss you all our lives.”
