Woman dies following car collision in Louth

A woman in her 30s has died following a single-vehicle collision in Co Louth.

The collision occurred on the N2 Dublin to Tyrone Road between Ardee and Carrickmacross last night at approximately 8:50pm.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda to undergo a post-mortem examination.

A part of the N2 has been closed in both directions and diversions are in place.
