Gardaí make nine arrests in Cork for public order offences

Gardaí have arrested nine people including two minors following a series of public order offences in Cork city last night.

The youths were approached by gardaí as it was suspected that they were involved in the sale and supply of illegal drugs.

One garda received minor facial injuries during the incident and a quantity of cocaine was recovered following the incident.

Video is circulating online of one of the men being arrested after running from gardaí.

Four men have since been released and are pending the completion of a file from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

One man has been charged with public order offences, another has been cautioned while the two minors will be processed through the Juvenile Diversion Programme.
