Matt Doherty and James McClean latest Ireland players to test positive for Covid-19

The Republic of Ireland squad has been further disrupted by two more cases of Covid-19, with Matt Doherty and James McClean testing positive.

The FAI has confirmed the results, stating that the rest of staff and squad tested negative ahead of the flight to Dublin following Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Wales.

The pair will not be involved in Wednesday’s final UEFA Nations League game against Bulgaria in the Aviva.

Stephen Kenny is yet to receive his first win with ROI, and this recent news will be very unwelcome.
