Arrests and clashes as thousands of Trump supporters rally in Washington D.C

Thousands of supporters of US president Donald Trump protesting the outcome of the election rallied in Washington on Saturday.

Police made 20 arrests, including four on gun charges, as counterprotesters and Trump supporters clashed in the streets throughout the evening.

Donald Trump continues to insist he has won the election, despite top election officials saying there is no evidence of that fraud or voting irregularities played a role in the election outcome.

President Trump himself briefly drove by the demonstrators as thousands continued to rally through D.C.
