Two dead following explosion at US veterans’ hospital

Two people are dead with one missing following an apparent steam pipe explosion that occurred in the maintenance building of the West Haven VA Medical centre in Connecticut.

According to Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie, neither of the victims were VA patients.

The first victim was a contractor and the second victim was a VA employee.

An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway by The Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
