Waterford Quay redevelopment to receive government funding

The government has confirmed that €110 million will be spent on the regeneration of Waterford North Quay.

Located close to Waterford city centre, the €400 million development will potentially create 2,800 long-term jobs according to backers.

The €110 million funding came through two separate departments, €80.6 million was signed off by Cabinet in Urban Regeneration and Development Funding for the plan from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, as well as another €30 million from the Department of Transport.

The development, which was granted planning permission during the Summer, includes office, residential, commercial, leisure and shopping developments.
