Central Statistics Office data has revealed that the majority of those who died from Covid-19 had underlying conditions.
The data, which was released on Friday, stated that more than 93% of those who died from Covid-19 had underlying conditions with the most common condition being chronic heart disease.
As well as underlying conditions, age was also a dominant factor as the majority of those who died from the virus were over the age of 65.
Among those who died from Covid-19 between the ages 25 and 65, 87% had underlying conditions.
