Woman and two children found dead in Dublin house yesterday are named

The woman and two children who were found dead at a house in Rathfarnham yesterday have been identified.

The woman, who is the mother of the two children, was identified as 37-year-old ‘Seema Banu’, the daughter was identified as 11-year-old ‘Asfira Syed’ and the son was identified as six-year-old ‘Faizan Syed’.

The family, which moved from India a few years ago, had been living in the Lewellyn Court estate for approximately one year where the kids attended the local Educate Together primary school.

Residents of the estate held a candlelit vigil last night for the family.

Gardaí are treating the deaths as unexplained but an investigation is ongoing as investigators await the post-mortem examination results to determine the course of the investigation, which has been allocated the resources of a murder investigation.
