Melbourne reports second consecutive day with no new virus cases

For a second consecutive day, Melbourne has reported no new Covid-19 cases as it emerges from lockdown at midnight tonight.

This is the first time since March that no new cases were confirmed in the city for 48 hours. Across the state of Victoria, there are now only 87 active Covid-19 cases.

From midnight, retail stores, beauty salons and restaurants will be permitted to reopen, however, gyms will remain closed until the 8th of November.

Travel from Melbourne to regional parts of the state will also be lifted along with the 25km travel restriction on the 8th of November.
