Decline in Covid-19 positivity rate over past 7 days – Paul Reid

Chief Executive of the Health Service Executive Paul Reid has said the positivity rate for Covid-19 tests has continued to decline over the past seven days and is now at 5.8%.

However, there has been a slight rise in the number of people in hospital with the virus, which now stands at 312 this morning, which is up from 302 at 8pm last night.

There were 27 new coronavirus hospital admissions over the past 24 hours, while 32 patients were discharged.

Last night there were 38 confirmed Covid-19 patients in intensive care.
