Majority of residents and staff at Galway nursing home test positive for Covid-19

The majority of residents in a nursing home in Galway have tested positive for Covid-19, with the virus also impacting a significant number of care staff at the facility.

One resident has so far died in relation to the virus.

Two others are being admitted to hospital today after their conditions deteriorated.

The incident emerged last Monday when a resident was brought to hospital and then testing positive for Covid-19.

Following the testing of all residents and staff, 25 out of 27 residents were found to have Covid-19.

All staff and residents are now self isolating.
