Teenager killed following hit-and-run incident outside Dundalk

A teenager has died following a hit-and-run incident that took place outside Dundalk, Co Louth. The man in his late teens was killed following a two-car collision last night at around 9pm in Ballymascanlon.

The driver of the first car fled the scene but later presented himself to gardaĆ­.

The driver of the other car, a man in his 40s, was hospitalised at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda with minor injuries.

GardaĆ­ are appealing to anyone with information or dash-cam footage of the Ballymascanlon area last night to contact Dundalk Garda Station at 042 938 8400, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
