RECALL NOTICE: Milk recalled over presence of harmful bacteria

A milk recall notice has been issued by the Food Safety Authority for several retail chains due to the possible presence of Enterobacteriaceae bacteria.

The milk, which has a use-by date of 26th of October, is being recalled by Arrabawn Co-op, branded as Arrabawn Fresh Milk, Homefarm Fresh Milk, Gala Fresh Milk, Spar Fresh Milk, Mace Fresh Milk and Clonbawn Fresh Milk, which is sold in Aldi stores.

Aldi is also recalling one-litre and two-litre bottles of Clonbawn light milk with a use-by date of 27th of October.

The Food Safety Authority have stated that the test, which does not confirm the presence of harmful bacteria, is used as an indicator of poor hygiene, process failure and post-process contamination of heat processed foods.
