Procurement manager of retail business arrested for taking bribes from supplier

An operation in Kildare has lead to the arrest of a man in his 50s, who is the procurement manager at a retail business, over allegations of taking bribes from a supplier.

The man is currently being detained at Leixlip Garda Station following the operation which was conducted by officers attached to the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau and the Anti-Corruption Unit.

The retailer had reported the matter to gardaí back in March and are cooperating fully with the investigation according to a garda spokesman.

No further information has been released and investigations are ongoing.
