Aaron Brady sentenced to life for the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe

Aaron Brady has been sentenced to life in prison and must serve a minimum of 40 years for the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe back in January 2013.

Detective Donohoe was shot and killed by Brady following an armed robbery at the Lordship Credit Union.

Brady, who was sentenced at the Central Criminal Court today, is the first person in over 35 years to be charged with the capital murder of a garda.

Adrian’s wife ‘Caroline Donohoe’ told the court that 58 seconds changed her and her children’s lives completely, his parents stated that it was hard to accept that a good man came across such evil on that awful night.

An investigation into the murder of Adrian Donohoe is still ongoing as other members of Brady’s gang have yet to be brought to court.
