Fines to be discussed by Covid-19 committee amid rise in virus prevalence

The Cabinet Covid-19 subcommittee will meet today to consider graduated fines to enforce pandemic related regulations.

The National Public Health Emergency Team wrote to the Government last night to say they remain deeply concerned about the rising number of Covid-19 cases.

NPHET continues to have serious concerns, but did not recommend the government to enforce further restrictions.

Dr. Colm Henry, Chief Clinical Officer with the Health Service Executive, said we have the tiniest of windows to stop the virus growing.
