Taoiseach raises concerns of rapid deterioration of Covid-19 in NI with Boris Johnson

Taoiseach Micheál Martin has raised concerns about the Covid-19 situation in Northern Ireland with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The two leaders spoke by phone this morning and there was an emphasis on achieving as much cooperation as possible to tackle rising Covid-19 cases on both sides of the border.

Martin also spoke to Stormont’s First and Deputy First Ministers Arlene Foster and Michelle O’Neill about the issue on Monday evening.

The Northern Ireland Executive is also meeting to discuss the rapidly deteriorating situation.
