Investigation underway after man in his 60s is stabbed in Waterford

One arrest has been made by gardaí after a man aged in his 60s was stabbed at a house in Waterford yesterday evening.

Following the incident, which occurred at St Herblain Park at approximately 7:30pm, the man was taken to University Hospital Waterford where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s but he was later released without charge.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
