Government party leaders to discuss NPHET’s Level 5 recommendation

Following the NPHET’s recommendation that the whole country should be placed on Level 5 of the Living With Covid Plan, the leaders of the three governing coalition parties are to meet Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan to discuss the recommendation.

The final decision is to be made tomorrow at a Cabinet meeting.

Health Service Executive CEO Paul Reid tweeted that there are obvious concerns about the trends of Covid-19 but that the government needs to consider the context of how severe and regular restrictions impact mental health, public health, wellbeing and the economy.
