Woman charged over alleged Covid-19 breaches in Northern Ireland

A 46-year-old woman is to appear before Derry Magistrates Court tomorrow morning over the alleged charge of breaching Covid-19 restrictions.

The offences are in relation to the Health Protection Regulations NI 2020.

Only providing the information that the incident occurred in Strabane, Tyrone, the PSNI have given no specific details on how the regulations were breached.

She is the first person in Northern Ireland to be charged with such an offence.

The charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
