Gardaí seize an estimated €4 million in cash following searches in Laois and Kerry

Following an operation targeting a drug trafficking gang, gardaí have seized an estimated €4 million in cash following searches that were conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) at two separate premises located in counties Laois and Kerry.

As well as the cash, gardaí also recovered three vehicles.

The gang is believed to be involved in drug trafficking on an international level.

A 46-year-old man is currently being detained at Tralee Garda Station on suspicion of having committed an organised crime-related offence.

This is believed to be one of the biggest cash seizures in the history of the state.
