We can expect and should plan for further waves of Covid-19 – Paul Reid

HSE CEO Paul Reid has said that Ireland will be faced with further waves of Covid-19, and should plan for such instances.

“It is increasingly evident that we can expect and should therefore plan for subsequent waves” of the virus, he noted.

“A difficult winter season, coupled with a resurgence in Covid-19, is the worst possible scenario for our health services,” he continued.

Although hospital admissions are rising, the numbers remain relativey stable, with 108 in hospital with Covid-19 and 17 in ICU.
