Targeted checkpoints are to be carried out by gardaí in Donegal

As tighter restrictions come into effect in Co Donegal tonight, gardaí will be carrying out targeted checkpoints.

This action has been taken as Donegal moves into Level 3 of the Government’s Living With Covid plan, with garda checkpoints being put in place to support public compliance with health regulations as part of Operation Fanacht.

The PSNI will be cooperating with gardaí in cross-border checkpoints.

The checkpoints will be stationed throughout the entire county as people are advised to not travel outside Donegal unless it is an essential journey.
