Concern over rise of Covid-19 cases associated with community transmission being reported in Ireland

Public health authorities are concerned about the number of Covid-19 cases detected in the last week which were as a result of community transmission.

Paul Reid said 39% cases emerging in Ireland are now associated with community transmission.

Reid also said there are now 77 people with Covid-19 in hospital, up from 23 last week.

He also said ICU admissions have increased from six to 14 in the last week.
