Following an operation carried out in Dublin yesterday by gardaí, a 34-year-old man has been arrested in relation to cyber fraud that lead to the theft of 18 customer’s accounts.
The 34-year-old Romanian national was arrested by the National Economic Crime Bureau in Dublin city centre yesterday.
An investigation into “transaction reversal frauds” was reported on the 13th of January by a financial institution following the theft of 18 ATM machines between the 8th and 10th of January.
The man is currently being detained at Store Street Garda Station where he can be held up to seven days.
