The “Dublin can be Heaven” group, which involves businesses in the Grafton Street area of Dublin, will allow customers to park for free for one hour.
The scheme, which is to start from next week, has been made to encourage city centre trade.
Vouchers that offer one hour of free parking to customers will be given following negotiations with multi-storey car parks in Dublin according to spokesperson Kim Condon of Lafford Jewellers.
This decision follows a drop in footfall in numbers, down 60% compared to last year, as many people are avoiding the city centre.
Extended footpaths with table and chair space have also been provided by Dublin City Council outside restaurants and cafes located in the city centre to increase activity.
