Man charged after woman assaulted and robbed in Limerick

A man in his 20s appeared before Limerick City District Court this morning in relation to a robbery that took place in Limerick last month.

The robbery occurred shortly before midnight on the 27th of August in Delmege Park, Moyross where a woman was approached by a man from behind.

The man struck the woman in the face and stole her handbag afterwards, however the woman did not require medical attention following the incident.

No arrests were made at the time of the incident but the area was patrolled by gardaĆ­.

The man was arrested following a house search in Clare conducted by detectives from the Crime Office in Mayorstone Park.

The man is currently being detained at Henry Street Garda Station.
