Leaving Cert average marks up 4.4% as students receive their calculated grades

Average Leaving Cert grades across all subjects and at all levels are up by an average of 4.4%, the Department of Education has revealed.

The decision to cancel the traditional Leaving Certificate written exams was made earlier in the year by government due to the uncertainty of Covid-19.

The results students in Ireland will receive this morning are based on teacher and school input along with other information as part of a process designed by those from the State Examinations Commission.

Students can appeal any result they are unsure about, similar to other years.

CAO first-round offers are due to be announced at 2pm on Friday.
