Although lectures have been moved online, The President of Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) has confirmed that students will still have to pay full college fees.
Professor Willie Donnelly stated that college staff costs remain the same which accounts for 80% of overall costs, as well as overheads.
All lectures and tutorials will be delivered remotely through live-streams for the academic year 2020/21.
In regards to the student’s social life, Donnelly stated that it was a main concern, in particular for first years, and that the management is currently working closely with the college’s Student Union on how to go about the situation.
