An Post issue warning on smishing text message scam

A warning has been issued by An Post in regards to a smishing scam via text message.

The scam involves a text message that refers to an undelivered package and asks for a payment on behalf of the company.

The text message asks customers to click the link in order to pay but instead it sends them to a fake An Post website to fill out personal information and card details.

An Post are asking people to be aware of these fake texts as there has been an increase in these types of scams due to more people buying online and getting items delivered.
