Following confirmation that pubs who do not serve food will not reopen next week, the government has announced a €15 million support package for them.
Exact details of the package have yet to be revealed.
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar stated that the restart grant would be topped up by 40% for affected pubs, as well as this, licence fees and court fees would also be waived.
Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform ‘Michael McGrath’ stated that the package would be worth up to €4,000 for licence holders, and that it would apply to restaurants, hotels and bars that are already open.
