Following an announcement that pharmaceutical company ‘Regeneron’ is extending its operations to Limerick, 400 new jobs are to be created.
This expansion comes as the company’s New York-based plant is preparing to produce a new antibody based treatment for Covid-19 called REGN-COV2.
Executive Vice-President and General Manager of IOPS at Regeneron stated “In order to make space in our New York facilities to accommodate our Covid-19 efforts, we needed to ramp-up capacity here in Limerick,”.
The new roles of the company, which has been operating in Limerick since 2014, include commercial manufacturing, quality control, supply chain, process science and various support functions for scientists, chemists and technicians.
