Man dead following two-car collision on the M1 near Balbriggan

A man has died following a collision involving two cars that occurred on the M1 near Balbriggan this morning.

The collision, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, took place near junction 6 on the M1 northbound at approximately 5:30am this morning.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene whilst the driver of the other car was taken to hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A post-mortem examination is underway and the road at junction 6 remains closed with diversions in place.
