Dr Ronan Glynn states that eliminating Covid-19 is not an option for Ireland

Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn has stated that eliminating Covid-19 is not an option for Ireland.

At a press briefing that took place on Monday night, Glynn stated “Unfortunately I don’t believe that it’s possible to eliminate this disease from our country as things currently stand – we have to learn to live with the threat of it”.

In response to experts calling on the Irish government to adapt a policy that attempts to fully eliminate Covid-19, Glynn confirmed that this was not a realistic option.
