RTÉ has announced that Sean O’Rourke will no longer work for them

RTÉ presenter ‘Sean O’Rourke’ has parted ways with RTÉ following a statement issued on Monday evening.

Although retired from his show ‘Today with Sean O’Rourke’, the broadcaster confirmed that it will not proceed with future projects with O’Rourke.

RTÉ thanked O’Rourke for his broadcasting contribution and has wished him luck in his future plans.

Following recent controversy in relation to O’Rourke’s presence at the Galway golf party, RTÉ did not cite this as a reason for his departure.

O’Rourke did make reference to this incident however, stating that he must call himself to account after saying “I spent many years with RTÉ presenting programmes on which public figures were called to account for their actions”.
