Nearly 150 arrested as PSG fans riot in Paris

Police arrested almost 150 people following riots that took place in the city of Paris last night.

Paris Saint-Germain football fans clashed with police and rioted following the team’s defeat to Bayern Munich.

The riots, which took place around the Parc des Princes stadium and on the Champs-Elysees, lead to cars being set on fire, shop windows being smashed as well as fireworks and bottles being thrown at police.

In response, police used tear gas and rubber bullets against the rioters. According to police, 148 people in total were arrested.

The riots resulted in 12 shops getting attacked, 15 vehicles damaged and 16 police officers injured according to Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin.
