Investigation underway after man and two children are killed following car crash in Donegal

Gardaí are investigating a car crash in Donegal where three people were killed.

The incident occurred at Three trees, Quigley’s Point last night when the driver of the car lost control and entered the water.

The driver, a 49-year-old man, along with the two occupants, his 14-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter, were killed.

The front passenger, his wife (45), managed to escape and call for help. She was hospitalised at Letterkenny Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A post-mortem examination of the three bodies is underway.

Gardaí are now appealing for anyone with information/dash cam footage of the incident to contact them, in particular anyone who saw a black Mitsubishi ASX with the registration number 11-DL-1566 that was driving in the area between 10pm and 10:30pm.
