Status Orange wind warning issued for several counties as Storm Ellen approaches

Met Éireann have issued a Status Orange wind warning for Galway, Mayo, Clare, Limerick, Kerry, Cork and Waterford as Storm Ellen is expected to move across the country tonight.

The forecaster stated that the storm will bring damaging winds and heavy rain. Localised flooding is also to be expected.

The warning comes into effect from 9pm tonight and will remain so until midday tomorrow.

A Status Red wind warning has been issued for Cork which will also remain in effect until midday tomorrow.

County Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry have been issued a Statues Yellow wind warning by The UK Met Office which will come into effect at 8pm tonight until midday tomorrow.
