Government to meet to discuss NPHET recommendations over Covid-19 increase

The Cabinet will meet this afternoon to discuss the latest recommendations from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) on tackling the spread of Covid-19.

The apparent rise in Covid-19 cases in recent weeks has hampered the further reopening of the country, putting schools in jeopardy of reopening in two weeks time.

Clusters have continued to emerge in workplace settings in recent weeks, such as meat processing plants and construction sites.

Any changes to public health advice or elsewhere matters will be announced following the meeting.
