Four workers test positive for Covid-19 at Glambia dairy processing plant

Four members of staff at Glambia dairy processing plant in Kildare have tested positive for Covid-19.

One staff member tested positive on Friday and since then there has been three additional cases.

The factory, located in Baltimore, remains open but contact tracing and wider testing is now underway.

The company stated that “We are working closely with local health authorities and following all appropriate advice”.

The Government has now announced that workers at meat and dairy processing plants are to undergo weekly testing after a number of workers at such plants have tested positive for the virus over the past few weeks.
