Bioluminescent plankton illuminate Cork beach

Fountainstown beach in Cork played host to a spectacular light show of bioluminescent plankton on Sunday night.

Photographer ‘Joleen Cronin’ took pictures of the bright blue ripples of light stating that “It really was an incredible spectacle,”.

At the time of the photo there was approximately 15-20 people on the beach gazing at the sight of the blue waves.

Last night, there was a couple of hundred people at the beach “But unfortunately we didn’t see quite the spectacle,” according to Joleen.
