Status Yellow rain warning comes into effect for 14 counties

Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning for Carlow, Kildare, Laois, Offaly, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Galway and all of Munster.

Throughout the day there will be heavy rain with accumulations of 25mm to 40mm in some places.

There is also a possibility of thunder throughout the day as well.

The warning will remain in effect until midnight.
