UK enters worst recession on record after GDP plunges over 20% in Q2

Britain has entered into the largest recession on record after figures showed the pandemic sent the economy plunging by 20.4% between April and June.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) confirmed the UK’s plunge into recession for the first time since the financial crisis.

However, there has been a resurgence in June, which seen the economy grow by 8.7%, giving hopes for a speedy revival of the economy in months to come.
