At least one dead following suspected gas explosion in US

At least one person has died following a suspected gas explosion in the US city of Baltimore.

At least four people have been injured and children have been trapped from the blast which destroyed at least three homes.

The Baltimore Sun cited firefighters that reported it as a gas explosion but the exact cause remains unknown.

The four injured people have been hospitalised in serious condition and firefighters were trying to rescue a sixth person according to the Baltimore City Fire Department.

Rescue operations are currently underway.
