At least 26 PSNI officers injured following attack in Belfast

At least 26 PSNI officers have been injured after a large group of youths attacked them with petrol bombs, masonry and other missiles.

The officers were called to Distillery Street, Belfast where contractors were removing bonfire material as tasked by the landowner.

Superintendent Melanie Jones stated that “At this point we can confirm that at least 26 officers have sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment,”.
