80 workers test positive for Covid-19 at Kildare factory

O’Brien Fine Foods in Kildare has confirmed that 80 of its employees have tested positive for Covid-19.

All operations in the factory have been suspended as a result.

Recently, an employee presented with Covid-19 symptoms, he was initiated a test and on the 30th of July he tested positive.

Following this, all of the factory’s employees were tested as a result.

Of the 243 employees that were tested, 80 tested positive.

The majority of these employees were asymptomatic.

Contract tracing is now underway.
