Gardaí have arrested a man in his 30s following multiple burglaries and criminal damage that took place in Clare.
The man was arrested yesterday afternoon when he was observed emerging from the side window of a house on Tolier Street after gardaí were notified about a possible burglary taking place in the area.
The man had a knife in his possession and gardaí also managed to recover a hatchet and screwdriver that are believed to have been used in the burglary.
The man has also been charged with the burglary of a shop on Francis Street, criminal damage to a shop on John Street, the burglary of a house also on John Street, and theft from a church in Kilrish.
He appeared before Ennis District Court this morning.
