Government to introduce random Covid-19 testing at airports

The Minister for Health has said the Government will introduce random testing at airports.

Stephen Donnelly said, “We’re introducing random testing at the airports and an increased public health presence and we’re examining other options as well for further restrictions on non-essential travel because … the international situation is becoming more volatile.”

Donnelly also noted that the passenger locator form was being made electronic and contact tracing teams were being boosted.

The government has the strictest international travel measures in the EU in the best attempt ti further minimise the spread of Covid-19.
